Peach Tomato & Mozzarella Crostini

Did you know that peaches and tomatoes can be friends? Well they totally can and believe me, they are a delicious combo!
Finger-licious and sweet, this savory dish is brought together with the splashes of balsamic vinegar.
Super simple & seriously impressive.

Music Video Tuesday

I was sure the first time I heard this tune that it was a Mumford & Sons track and was completely surprised to find it was from a Mr. Phillip Phillips. An American Idol season 11 winner....wait, what?

I am not a big fan of the show American Idol, mostly from the commercial pop tunes that usually result from the shows winners, but for once America got it right. This song is a sneak peak into the rest of his song talents and trust me, they are good! Enjoy!

Wear to Wedding

Look 1: Fire & Lace                                                               Look 2: Color & Crystals

This past weekend I was a part of a lovely wedding and wearing a fun bridesmaid dress and sparkly jewels. Looking around the room I noticed the guests all wearing the same ol' thing (mostly the ladies). A skin tight black colored mini dress with black strapy sandals and a sparkly clutch. No color anywhere:( A little disappointing when there are so many beautiful frocks in  stores everywhere.

My cousin is getting married next week and I am going to break free from the simple black dress! I put together a Polyvore inspiration board to help me decide which route I should go....The firery siren in patent leather pumps or the colorful vintage queen in teal suede Maryjane's.  What do you think?

Strawberry Done 2 Ways

What is summer without  delicious strawberry drink? Here are two ways to use the beautiful fruit.

Strawberry Fizz

Club Soda
Grapefruit Flavored Vodka
Pured Strawberry
Fresh Strawberry/Garnish

Mix 1 part of grapefruit flavored vodka with 2 parts of the club soda in your glass filled with ice. Once your fresh strawberries are pureed (I used a blender), add 2 Tablespoons into your dink and stir. Garnish your glass with a Fresh strawberry and enjoy!

Strawberry Ice

Water
Strawberry/Diced
Sparkling Water
Fresh Strawberry for Garnish

Cut the fresh strawberries into tiny cubes and place a good amount into each ice cube mold. Fill the rest of the space with water and freeze.
Once frozen (Ice Cubes), place a few cubes in glass and fill the rest of the glass with sparkling water. Garnish the glass with a fresh strawberry!
ENJOY!

Pure Pink Love

Meet Bob. A man who loves his wife so much that when she became diagnosed with breast cancer, he wondered how he could be there for her. Armed with only his camera, Bob decided to treat the cancer blues in a rather creative way.
The Tutu Project:
As a way to relieve stress and shine some comedic light on the situation, Bob started "The Tutu Project."  Dresses in a fluffy pink tutu, he positions himself in different environments- the subway, the beach, parking lots, etc....
Now the website thetutuproject.com raises funds for publication of the book Ballerina, "a book all about a man, his pink tutu, and raising funds for women with breast cancer."
Nothing says LOVE from a husband to a wife like a pink TuTu and a camera!
I love this! Thanks Bob for your good intentions and creative heart:)

New Headboard?

I have been thinking it is time for a new headboard but am stumped on which material, color, and overall feel I am going for. Thank goodness for pinterest:) I was able to find a few options that I LOVE but now I must narrow down the choices even more.
Here is where you come in....PLEASE HELP CHOOSE! I am favoring the rattan collection as of right now, but who knows how I will feel in a week or two?

Instagram in a week

Flowers, mermaids, adorable doggies, and colorful accessories! A week packed with sniffing, laughing, and many smiles all caught on our Instagram:)

Recipe:Crunchy Penut Butter Cups

1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup peanut butter
3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup semisweet or milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup milk
Sea salt
Line a  muffin tin with papers (you could also use a mini muffin tin if you prefer).
In a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter & peanut butter together for 45 seconds.  Stir until smooth.  Add graham cracker crumbs and sugar and mix to combine.  Distribute mixture evenly between the prepared muffin cups.  Refrigerate for 15 minutes to set peanut butter layer.
After the peanut butter has chilled, combine chocolate and milk in a microwave safe bowl and heat in 25 second intervals until chocolate is just melted.  Stir until smooth.  Distribute chocolate evenly over the top of the peanut butter layer.  Sprinkle with sea salt and chill until firm, at least 30 minutes.  Store covered in the fridge.

Music Video Tuesday

I am a little obsessed with this song, so I was overjoyed when I came across this video:)
On those days where riding my bike with a basket full of fresh picked flowers and artisan breads all ready for a evening picnic fill my head, this soundtrack plays. Completely normal......right?

Dream Catcher DIY

I am a big dreamer, in life and at night! I usually have weird unexplainable dreams that I try and decipher but usually just chuck it up to being an odd ball:)
I have been wanting to make my own dream catcher for some time now (mostly for looks, but who knows what else might come of it), so after a quick visit for some supplies at a local thrift shop I was ready to create!
You will need: A pair of scissors, feathers (or other garnishes), doily (10-12" diameter), wood or metal hoop, scraps of fabric, wood beads, & colorful cording.
Step 1: I weaved and wrapped the pink cording through open loops in the doily.  Depending on the size of everything (you hoop and doily), you may need to trim after the doily is securely fixed to the hoop. I had to trim about 2" off the edge.
Step 2: Tread the fabric scraps (I used left over knit jersey) through your beads and stagger the pieces in varying lengths.
Step 3: Choose your garnishes! Nothing screams dream catcher to me like a good feather so I fastened them by simply wrapping the pink cording around the feather shaft and onto the hoop. It could be fun to adhere some findings as well.  Add a string on top for easy hanging and your dream catcher is ready for use!
Inside or outside......I am loving it!!!!!
